A grande novidade do mercado de arte em junho passado foi a venda do último retrato de Gustav Klimt pela Sotheby’s de Londres. A obra, que foi encontrada ainda no cavalete do ateliê do artista quando ele morreu, aos 55 anos, agora é a obra de arte mais cara já vendida na Europa, arrematada por incríveis € 85,3 milhões (US$ 108,4 milhões).
A tela colorida retrata uma mulher desconhecida parada em frente a um cenário repleto de flora e fauna com um manto decorativo caindo de um ombro. “Cheio de liberdade e espontaneidade, reflete a alegria de Klimt em pintá-lo e em celebrar a beleza em sua forma mais pura”, dizia um comunicado da casa de leilões, que atribuiu à pintura uma estimativa de pré-venda de cerca de US$ 80 milhões.
Outros destaques de junho incluem a venda de um Chen Jiru pela Shanghai Jiahe Auction Co. que excedeu em muito a estimativa de pré-venda de CNY 25 milhões a CNY 35 milhões (US$ 3,5 milhões a US$ 4,9 milhões), arrematado por CNY 59,2 milhões (US$ 8,2 milhões); e “Book of Flower and Vegetables and Pests”, de Qi Baishi, também pela Shanghai Jiahe Auction Co., estimado entre CNY 15 e CNY 25 milhões (US$ 2,1 milhões a US$ 3,5 milhões) e arrematado por impressionantes CNY 55,2 milhões (US$ 7,7 milhões).
