As duas feiras serão realizadas em parceria e ocuparão, simultaneamente, andares diferentes do COEX
A Frieze Seoul revelou a lista com mais de 120 galerias que participarão de sua segunda edição em setembro, enquanto a Associação de Galerias da Coreia nomeou as mais de 210 galerias que participarão de sua feira Kiaf, lançada pela primeira vez em 2002.
As feiras acontecem em parceria e serão realizadas em diferentes andares do COEX Convention & Exhibition Center, na capital, de 7 a 9 de setembro, com uma prévia VIP em 6 de setembro.
Na Frieze, todas as quatro megagalerias – Gagosian, Hauser & Wirth, Pace e David Zwirner – retornarão, assim como várias outras importantes como Thaddaeus Ropac, Paula Cooper Gallery, Kurimanzutto, Lehmann Maupin, Lisson Gallery, Galerie Lelong & Co., Mendes Wood DM, Sprüth Magers e Take Ninagawa.
A seção principal da feira terá basicamente o mesmo número de galerias sul-coreanas da primeira edição – entre elas Kukje, Leeahn, PKM, Johyun e Jason Haam, com a única novidade sendo a galeria Whistle, que teve um estande na seção Focus da Frieze New York no mês passado. (Pouco mais da metade das galerias coreanas nas três seções da feira também participarão da Kiaf.)
A feira será novamente acompanhada por duas seções menores, Frieze Masters (para obras feitas em qualquer momento da história da arte) e Focus Asia (apresentações individuais de galerias da Ásia).
Enquanto o número de expositores da Frieze Seoul tem cerca de 10 galerias a mais do que na edição do ano passado, a Kiaf cresceu muito mais rapidamente, com 210 galerias, representando um aumento de quase 30% em relação às 164 exibidas no ano passado.
No ano passado, a feira estreou uma nova seção para artistas emergentes, NFTs e novas mídias chamada Kiaf Plus, que foi realizada em um local diferente; desta vez, ele retornará, mas será integrado aos principais salões do Coex.
