A lista de participantes apresenta forte presença de galerias e artistas latino-americanos, refletindo a importância da Art Basel em Miami Beach para a região
A Art Basel anunciou que 268 galerias – incluindo 29 novos expositores – de 34 países participarão da sua 17ª edição em Miami Beach, que acontece no Miami Beach Convention Center, entre 6 e 9 de dezembro. Os convidados VIPs terão um dia de preview em 5 de dezembro.
Este ano, a renovação do Miami Beach Convention Center (MBCC) será concluída, com a expectativa de que os parques, como próxima fase do projeto, sejam realizados nos próximos anos. Juntamente com a planta remodelada e o layout aprimorado, as melhorias nas instalações fornecerão uma plataforma de primeira linha para as galerias expositoras.
A seção Galleries vai contar com 198 participantes, duas das quais – Kayne Griffin Corcoran e Galeria Cardi – são recém-chegadas à feira. Outras 12 galerias que participaram anteriormente em uma das outras seções da feira farão parte deste setor este ano. Entre elas, estão a David Castillo Gallery, DC Moore Gallery, Essex Street e a brasileira Simões de Assis Galeria de Arte. Ao todo, são 10 galerias brasileiras presentes neste setor: A Gentil Carioca, Bergamin & Gomide, Casa Triângulo, DAN Galeria, Fortes D’Aloia & Gabriel, Mendes Wood DM, Galeria Nara Roesler, Simões de Assis Galeria de Arte, Galeria Luisa Strina e Vermelho.
No setor Positions, 14 galerias – oito das quais são totalmente novas na Art Basel Miami Beach – apresentarão uma obra importante de um único artista. A brasileira SIM Galeria marca presença neste setor, enquanto Parque Galería, Upstream Gallery, Bodega e a Commonwealth and Council são alguns dos expositores presentes pela primeira vez.
Na seção Nova, 29 galerias mostrarão novos trabalhos de até três de seus artistas, entre elas as brasileiras Silvia Cintra + Box 4 e Anita Schwartz Galeria de Arte. Estreando na feira estão galerias como Selma Feriani, Christophe Gaillard, Grimm, Linn Lühn e Morán Morán, entre outras.
Completando a participação brasileira, a Galeria Jaqueline Martins participa do setor Survey.
