Um marco no calendário anual de arte, a Armory Show acontece entre os deias 7 e 10 de março em Nova York, com mais de 200 galerias de 30 países. A feira é dividida em duas seções principais, The Armory Show – Contemporary e The Armory Show – Modern. Este ano marca ainda a segunda edição do Solo Projects e ainda traz a Armory Film e a Open Forum, com uma série de painéis e mesas redondas. As brasileiras Galeria Raquel Arnaud, Baró Galeria e Luciana Brito Galeria participam desta edição.
A feira atual foi fundada em 1994 por Colin de Land, Pat Hearn, Matthew Marks e Paul Morris como Gramercy International Art Fair, a Armory Show adquiriu seu título atual em 1999, quando mudou de endereço para o 69th Regiment Armory na Lexington Avenue. O nome é uma homenagem à lendária exposição de 1913, que aconteceu neste mesmo edifício, e exibiu obras de vanguarda de artistas europeus nunca antes vistos nos Estados Unidos. A Armory Show de 1913 é amplamente creditada por introduzir o Modernismo europeu na América, e sua mistura de gêneros – colocando lado a lado Van Gogh, Marcel Duchamp e Edward Hopper – tem sido uma fonte de inspiração e continua influenciando artistas até os dias de hoje, cem anos depois.
